Choosing between screen printing vs digital printing affects your cost, colour options, and minimum order size. Here’s the practical difference.
Screen Printing
Screen printing uses a mesh stencil per colour, making it very cost-effective at high volumes but less flexible for multi-colour or photographic designs. Best for 1-3 colour logos on large bulk orders.
Digital Printing
Digital printing applies design directly without needing separate screens per colour, making it ideal for detailed, multi-colour, or photo-realistic designs — and better suited to smaller order quantities where screen setup costs wouldn’t be worth it.
Cost at Scale
For large bulk orders with simple branding, screen printing is usually cheaper per piece. For smaller runs or complex artwork, digital printing often works out more cost-effective once you factor in screen setup charges.
Which Should You Choose?
- Simple logo, large bulk order → Screen printing
- Detailed/multi-colour design, smaller order → Digital printing
